This mid 18th century town house had more recently been used as an office by Strongs Brewery and their successors Whitbreads and the Trust bought the property when the whole Brewery site was sold.

The general condition of the building was reasonably good and, apart from the removal of a chimney, the provision of a solid floor in the kitchen and re-pointing of the façade, no major rebuilding work was required to convert the house back into residential use.
